Undav reflects on heavy opening defeat as Stuttgart beaten at Bayern Munich

Undav started in attack as VfB Stuttgart were beaten 5–1 away to Bayern Munich in the opening round of the Bundesliga season on 28 August 2026. Dayot Upamecano gave the hosts the lead before Josha Vagnoman equalised early in the second half, only to concede an own goal minutes later as Munich pulled away.
Speaking after the match, Undav credited goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow with preventing an even heavier margin of defeat. "Bayern just take their chances," Undav said. "I think if Fabi Bredlow hadn't had such a good day, we could've conceded eight or nine."
