Bochum honours Agit Kabayel, first Kurd in the city's Golden Book
The WBC heavyweight champion was celebrated by his home city on Saturday, signing Bochum's Golden Book — an honour no Kurd had received before.
Agit Kabayel's home city has honoured him. Bochum received the WBC heavyweight champion at a civic ceremony on Saturday, where he signed the city's Golden Book — the first Kurd to do so.
Supporters travelled from across Europe for it, one of them thirteen hours from Vienna. "Kurdish power, German discipline," Kabayel said of the career that carried him from Bochum to the green belt, which he was elevated to in June after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the division.
